I called last minute to get a tent site, and the lady who answered was very helpful and accommodating. The site was a bit muddy but clean. Bathrooms were well maintained, and everything worked.
I had to drive around in circles a few times to find my lettered spot, so my only suggestion would be to post a map to make it easier.
Overall, the camp is well maintained, and I enjoyed the ccess to the beach and price.
Here’s yet another hidden gem in the thumb. Breathtaking beach. Neat rocks to look at if your into that kind of thing. Sparkling sand, too and Lake Huron is clear, blue, and as majestic as ever. It’s quiet here, even with campers. I have seen the new one-room beach cottages they built but I haven’t stayed over night in one yet. I want to though! They look so cute and cozy!
The campground wasn't large but it was perfect. They have full hook ups and it's right on Lake Huron which was a beauty to look at. We enjoyed skipping stones in the lake. The campground wasn't too noisy other than children and families having fun. There weren't any obnoxiously loud people. The site came with a fire ring and a picnic table. There is wifi at the office which we appreciated so we could research the area before going out to explore. I felt my children were safe when they went off on bike rides or to the beach because everyone obeyed the speed limit.
Nice campground, lots of kids on bikes, family friendly. A lot of seasonal campers, we were camped on 118A, kind of at the end of the loop. Hook-ups were far apart. Checking in was easy but no help finding the site. Nice beach area and ice cream shop not much of a camp store. We drove M25 several similar campgrounds along the way north. Go visit the lighthouse about an hour north it was awesome.
1st time there this past Saturday for a Halloween type fest...it was ok...the girls wanted to play on the playground but it was all torn apart as if they might be remodeling? Putting in something different?? No clue....no signs were up or anything.
It's nice with the lake being right there
Beautiful location right On lake Huron. Electricity was shut off me lots including ours. Many months ago we booked camping spots side by side by side ie three of them because we wanted to spend the time together as a family. But oops, oh well, they just stuck us where they could. I thought that was pretty unprofessional . As anyone who's evering camping anywhere during the summer on a lake it is not cheap. And management essentially did nothing more than sure their shoulders at the situation. Next time I'm going across the street. They have way more activities there and I won't go camping here again ever.
Fun camp ground with volleyball, basket ball, a sand beach. The bathroom/showers are clean and still new looking. The tent site I had was right on the creek that feeds into the lake that I could see from my tent. Friendly staff and an easy reservation process.
Forester Campground is a hidden Gem in the thumb.
My husband and I stumbled across the campground last summer on our way exploring up the thumb area.
We had been looking for a campground to visit.
We went to the office to ask for information, and then asked if they had availability around my birthday,
Luckily enough July, 2022 they did!
Everyone was very friendly, they have an amazing ice cream shop with a hometown feel and friendly people working.
This year we were lucky enough to get a seasonal spot, the weekend was beautiful. It’s such a family friendly environment, it’s peaceful and beautiful, with direct access to Lake Huron, a beautiful Great Lake! I felt like I could break the chains of the city; and enjoy the fresh air!
The Sunrise and the moon rise were an amazing sight!
I was to occupied taking in all the beauty to take more photos, I guess you have to see for yourself!
If you get a chance and you enjoy camping; in a camper, a tent, a cabin; I recommend making a reservation here.
